Patent and protection
The Trademark “Eindhoven Design” is an officially registered trademark with the General Patent and Trademark Office (AOMB, Algemeen Octrooi en Merkenbureau). Both the designation and the logo are covered by its extensive legal protection. Only those having the permission as described in the Document are entitled to use the designation. Improper use is subject to legal action.
The registration of the Trademark is recorded in “Regulations on the use and supervision” with the General Patent and Trademark Office. These regulations can be consulted at the Office of the Foundation in Eindhoven. The Foundation sets out to protect its own Trademark against improper use, anywhere in the world.
If they like, designers can get the help of the Foundation in the case of legal matters and having their products patented. The first advice for trademark product designs is free. For that reason the Foundation works together with the AOMB.
